Keeping your expectations low will enable you to avoid disappointment. Your ideals are still a bit skewed from the reality of a situation, but with perseverance, patience and wisdom, you can bring the two into alignment under today's Capricorn Moon.
How am I supposed to remain positive and believe that I'm capable of anything and keep my expectations low at the same time? Universe, I believe you are finally asking too much of me. I have spent the last few months working on positive thinking and believing that anything is possible and what are you telling me now? Anything is possible for everyone except for me? Not quite everything is possible, better not expect too much?
Too bad. I'm all positive now. I've got writing gigs and auditions and I refuse to try and align with anything close to disappointment. Of course, this refusal will probably lead to disappointment when the auditions don't pan out and the writing gigs don't pay as well as I'd like. I know, I know, at least I was warned.

Stop in the name of thought 4
Stop thinking. Replace thinking with dreaming, believing and doing.
Who advises someone to dream over thinking? Believing and doing I can see, but dreaming? What the...?
And how do you STOP thinking? I have really tried and all I can get to is "Oh, so here I am, not thinking. Well, this isn't really all that different."
Thinking here must mean worrying, 'cuz if you take that out of the equation - any equation - it's much easier to get things done. I've accomplished a lot of things because I didn't know (i.e. think or worry) that I shouldn't be able to do them. So how do I get back to that place? I know too much now. I've seen too many limitations. I've experienced too many limitations.
Though I know my default status is Unwarranted Optimism. Guess I just need to hit Reset.

So many good horoscopes, so little time 8
Right now, your heart is open to new beginnings. You are ready to toss aside old habits and old ways of viewing things.
I am! I'd feel totally queer about practicing The Power of Positive Thinking except that I think it's actually working. Son and I ran some errands this afternoon and as we were on our way home I remembered that I NEED to pick up a form at DSC so Daughter can take a very important skating Moves test this month. We got stuck in traffic because of the PGA Championship that has shut down Maple Rd., and instead of being cranky about sitting in traffic I just thought "Thank you for reminding me that I need to pick up this form!" The bad traffic (on the way there AND on the way home) didn't destroy my good mood.
I'm sure I will still get frustrated. 44 years of habit doesn't go away in a week. But I'm feeling ok about it. Like I'm not stuck (in traffic - ooooh, an analogy!) for the rest of my life.
Doors that have been blocked to you for months will reopen under today's Virgo Moon, and you'll be able to start moving towards your dreams at last. With the new clarity and direction you'll be receiving from the Universe, it will be easier than ever to determine your next move.
Not so sure if doors were unlocked today or if I just heard someone moving around on the other side so I know there's someone back there. Regardless, I am feeling more optimistic. A local bookstore contacted me this evening for an appearance next month! Who'd a thunk it? I'm feeling good about my project book, and my school flyer is ready to go out with an awesome letter - written by Husband.
That crowd forming around you consists of fans, all of whom are lining up to catch a glimpse of you. It's up to you to keep them at bay while still holding on to their everlasting love and admiration. Smile pretty and wave elegantly. Remember -- it's elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist.
I'm not good with crowds, but who am I to turn away admiring fans? Though I'm still struggling to wave -or do anything - elegantly.
Your confidence is refreshed.
'Nuf said.

Universe says relax 9
You're in the habit of being hard on yourself. That's why you consistently turn in fine work, are a terrific friend and have relationships that do you proud. Tonight go easy on yourself.
Hard to go easy on myself today. Heard from the potential documentary investor - she can't do it. Also found out that my first magazine article appeared ... with someone else's byline. Then I spent all evening working on a project for the website and it didn't save -- twice!
I'm feeling like Bad Luck Schleprock today. Remember him from The Flintstones - constantly walking around with a cloud over his head? Thing is, I don't WANT to feel this way. Karen and I finished - FINISHED - the play this morning. I want to feel happy about that. I want to feel joyous. I want The Power of Positive Thinking to be real.
Though I guess this would be the real test. Can I continue to think positive while facing a bunch of setbacks? I think I can. I've got a couple good ideas to work on in the next few weeks, my back is feeling better and I spent the afternoon laughing hysterically with my son as he read a book backwards.
What's more positive than that?
So thanks, Universe, for the astrological pat on the back. But I think I'm doing fine on my own today.

Freaky Tuesday 7
With one chirpy 'good morning!' you will be able to turn a frown into a smile -- and get a rush from your ensuing sense of power. Spread your bright demeanor to strangers and friends alike, and make it a great day.
I see you've been peeking into my windows again, Universe. I'm reading The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale right now and did make a conscious effort today to remain positive -- even when crazy things were happening.
Daughter and I waited, at 6:30 am, for her ride to skating but realized at 6:40 am that they weren't going to show. So I jumped in the car and drove her to the rink. She called me as I was driving home, her coach wasn't at the rink!
Then just as I was getting ready to head out and read my book at a day camp the power went out!
Then - and this may be the freakiest of all - I went to my writing partner's house with a bottle of wine and we got so involved in writing that we forgot to drink it!
I know!
Turns out I had screwed up on the skating issue (no surprise there) and our carpool knew the coach wouldn't be there and slept in. The power came back on around 2:30 pm, and Karen and I actually got a lot of work done. I think it's because I refused to be defeated by the day's events. At one point, as we sat in the dark house unable to cook anything for lunch, Daughter said "This is a bad day."
"It's just a weird day," I said.
It reminds me of when Daughter was 3 and obsessed with watching The Wizard of Oz. She watched it every single day, even though she was terrified of the witch. So Husband and I had to make sure one of us was in the room each and every time the witch made her first appearance so we could put Daughter at ease by saying, "She's not bad. She's just misunderstood."
